Mountain Music, Stories and Dance featuring Jeff Robbins
Mountain Music, Stories and Dance featuring Jeff Robbins
Jeff Robbins grew up in Marion, Virgina in a family of musical talent. His father taught him how to make instruments from an early age.
Most of the instruments Jeff plays were handmade... mandolin, fiddle, dulcimer and several banjos and a homemade instrument, a "One String Pork-n-Bean" guitar - TM -1984.
Jeff has performed at hundreds of fairs and festivals and other venues over the years. "Mountain Music, Stories and Dance" is a tried and true professional show that is enjoyed by audiences of all ages. His performances are designed for main or side stages, or any covered area (tent, pavilion, building.)

Jeff has brought more than 7,000 performances to public and private elementary schools, Montessori schools, preschools, and libraries throughout the United States.
The performance is 40 minutes and Jeff will hold the audience's attention from the beginning of the show to the very last note. Additionally, Jeff offers an instrument making workshop where the students or library patrons get to make their very own, playable, "One String Pork-n-Bean" guitar.
"Mountain Music, Stories and Dance" is an upbeat, participatory, educational and tried & true performance of Appalachian mountain music. Most of the instruments Jeff plays were handmade by he and his father...mandolin, fiddles, dulcimer, several banjos and a unique instrument called a, "One String Pork-n-Bean" guitar. This show transcends any other short courses in traditional American music. For many schools, Jeff's assembly program may meet some of your core requirements. A study guide is available (see bottom of page) for teachers to use in preparation for the music program as well as 2 cognitive skills tests following Jeff's visit.
Showtime approximately 30 to 45 minutes in length or as needed.
Show Includes: Participatory performances of traditional songs played on a fiddle, banjos, dulcimer, mandolin, and a "One String Pork-n-Bean Guitar," TM - Patent 1984.
"One String Pork-n-Bean Guitars" are made at the fair or festival and are complimentary to audience members. The guitars will bear the logo of YOUR FAIR or FESTIVAL...theme, dates, etc. We will provide these labels (with your artwork) or will design one for you.
Jeff concludes the program, "jamming" with the audience on their homemade guitars. They are encouraged to take their playable and tunable guitars as a free keepsake of the fair or festival....a great advertisement and marketing tool for your event.
We love our customers, so feel free to visit during normal business hours.
